Happy fall, y’all!

This season feels especially meaningful for our family.

After a very full year, Little Lessons Media is finally back. And so is Matteo & Antonio’s Halloween: A Little Lesson in Inclusion, just in time for Halloween.

We are also getting to experience actual fall weather this year. After living in Arizona, it will be nice to step outside in October without feeling like you have been set on fire.

Cooler mornings. Changing leaves. Crisp air.

It finally feels like fall.

Where We’ve Been

If you have been following along for a while, you may have noticed that things became a little quiet around here.

Our family made a big move from Arizona to the East Coast. As anyone who has moved across the country with two young children can probably imagine, it was a lot.

There were boxes to pack.
Goodbyes to say.
Routines to rebuild.
And an entirely new place for all of us to learn.

For Matteo and Antonio, it meant leaving behind what was familiar and adjusting to a new home, new surroundings, a new daycare and a completely different rhythm to their days.

We wanted to give them the time and space they needed to make that transition.

That also meant giving ourselves permission to slow down.

Why Little Lessons Media Took a Break

Little Lessons Media was never forgotten, but it did need to take a back seat while we focused on helping our family feel settled again.

What started as a short break became a longer hiatus than we originally expected.

Sometimes life does that.

Plans change. Timelines shift. And sometimes the things we love have to wait while we take care of the people we love.

In many ways, that experience brought us right back to the heart of why Little Lessons Media exists.

Children experience big feelings during moments that adults sometimes see as ordinary.

A move.
A new school or daycare.
A change in routine.
Even a holiday.

All of those things can feel exciting and overwhelming at the same time.

Our goal has always been to create stories that help children understand those feelings and remind parents that the little moments are often the ones that matter most.

Sometimes Parents Need the Reminder Too

Children do not need perfect words or perfect reactions.

They need patience.
They need reassurance.
They need stories that help them feel seen.

They need to know that it is okay to feel excited, nervous and unsure, sometimes all at once.

Honestly, sometimes parents need that reminder too.

We do not always have to rush our children through a transition or expect them to adjust on our timeline. Sometimes the best thing we can do is slow down, give them space and let them find their footing.

That is what our family needed this past year.

Now that we are settling into our new home and finding our rhythm, it finally feels like the right time to return.
